My cat, Cindy

My cat, Cindy, was about to have her kittens and I could feel she had a need to have me close to her. She would make sounds in an effort to get my attention, and as she walked, she expected me to be by her side. When I stopped, she’d stop, and guided me to where she wanted us to be. She wanted me to follow her; I knew she needed my help. Perhaps she felt threatened by the male cat outside (they sometimes kill kittens) or maybe she just wanted me to be there for her. I believe it was on that same night, that the male cat entered the house to hurt the kittens.

But Cindy felt a sense of calmness when I was next to her. Having me there made her feel comfortable and safe.

God, our Heavenly Father brings us a sense of calmness. We feel at ease when we know that God is by our side. We gain confidence and strength in doing His work, knowing that He will never leave nor forsake us. Having God in our lives gives us peace. We know that He will protect us from any harm or danger.

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Let us pray:
Father, help us to be more like you. Help us to have peace in our hearts. Please Lord, give us the faith that we need to always believe in Your name. We put our hope and trust in You, our loving Savior. Thank you for being our Father and God. This I pray, in Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
